Position Description:

CCC's donor database is central to the management of relationships with its foundations and individual donors. The Data Analyst (DA) is responsible for the strategic administration and oversight of the organization's fundraising data architecture, maximizing the fundraising and marketing potential of the donor database through strategic analysis, and effective management of donor information and relationships. The successful candidate will create, implement and manage effective policies, processes and procedures to ensure an exemplary level of data integrity in the Raiser's Edge database.

This position reports to: Deputy Director of Institutional Advancement.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Be fully familiar with and provide oversight of the Raiser's Edge fundraising database, ensuring that it operates to its full potential to maximize revenue. The DA works in close partnership with the Database Specialist, who is responsible for data entry and daily financial procedures.
  • Strategic mapping of our data architecture, ensuring a system that is effective and supports the strategic goals of the department encompassing a moves management system, foundation relations, and direct marketing.
  • Responsible for driving strong analysis of campaign performance and opportunities, and works with the Donor Relations Manager to ensure strong list segmentation and analysis of donor cultivation strategies.
  • Providing strong analysis to help identify program specific prospect pipelines and cultivation strategies, including c4 donor prospects.
  • Responsible for the major donor prospect pipeline coordination within the overall moves management process. The Data Analyst, with support from the IA Coordinator and the Database Specialist, is responsible for managing the data updates among key staff, thinking strategically about list segmentation and research needs to support the pipeline, implementing and maintaining a cohesive data architecture that supports the pipeline, and producing reports and analysis specific to the Moves Management process.
  • Coordinates interfaces between Raiser's Edge and all other connecting systems including Financial Edge, Blue State Digital, TrustCommerce merchant services, and any other supporting systems.
  • Is a strong thought partner to the Database Specialist in relation to complex querying, financial reporting priorities, and day to day data management.
  • Ensures organization is following appropriate processes and advises colleagues on issues such as data protection and data integrity, with particular regard to collection and recording of data in compliance with the law and industry codes of practice.
  • Establishes and maintains regular system checks and takes corrective action when required. This includes systems patches and upgrading database versions as appropriate.
  • Ensures that all other Raiser's Edge database users are appropriately trained, kept up-to-date with procedures and retrained as and when required.
  • Supports colleagues by investigating problems and recommending solutions relative to database functions.
  • Regularly communicates with the Deputy Director of Institutional Advancement to ensure that she is aware of any issues relative to data integrity and donor needs.

Financial Management Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with Financial Reconciliation Procedures, updates processes and creates new procedures when necessary.
  • Helps with the preparation of reports for the organization's annual audit in coordination with the Finance team.

Qualifications

  • Ability to organize information and data in a complex architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and perform complex data analysisA, and experience with appropriate analytic tools to support this work.
  • Project management and critical thinking skills necessary to effectively problem solve and be able to lead projects to conclusion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, multi-task and work quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • Minimum of four years direct experience working with Raiser's Edge. Background and experience working with Financial Edge strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the practices and principles of fundraising and/or prior experience with fundraising operations required.
  • Commitment to donor confidentiality and ability to practice discretion with donor records.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office a plus.
  • Proven experience in effectively communicating with donors and funders via in-person interaction, phone, email and regular mail.
  • Ability to work with multiple staff within the Team and throughout the organization.
  • Hands on experience working collaboratively with the Finance Team recommended.
  • Strong telephone and verbal communications skills as well as solid interpersonal skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Supports the broad goals of the Institutional Advancement Team to raise resources for Center for Community Change and its 501 (c) (4), the Center for Community Change Action.
