Asked to save record when no change is made.

Options
If I view the Attribute Tab and then exit a record without making any change I'm asked to save the record. This is the only tab this happens on. If I click "Save" the "Date Last Changed" will be updated even though there were no changes. This happens if I "X" out of the record or if I File/Close the record. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks

    Yes, it is.

I frequently am asked to save a record that I haven't made changes to.  It's frustrating at times.  I have not checked to see if date last changed is updated, but I assume it is.  I'm not sure if it's exclusive ot looking at attribute tab but it could be.

Yes, it happens to me a lot.  It is quite frustrating.  It happens with looking at an address too. And when looking at a relationship and then click to go to that persons individual record.

I have longed suspected that this is somehow related to Global Updates but I am not 100% on that. It's not just related to the Attributes tab. I find it frustrating as well. I haven't checked to see if the "date last changed" or "last changed by" get updated.

Laura is correct with the global updates but it also applies to global add (notes, actions, attributes etc).

The global change is made by the system however, the system does not complete the operation by updating the record statistics, this (as seen) occurs the next time the record is opened.  The downside of this is that the record has the wrong 'last changed' date and by whom.

That's sort of interesting as the cause and a bit annoying.  At first I thought I hadn't done any global changes to these records but thinking about it the change could have been adding an attribute or a solicitor assignment even over a year ago.

This really sounds like something BB should address.  I thought I was just 'me' but it is annoying when I'm scrolling through records off a query and just choosing the arrow to go to next record when I actually want the one after it.  Easier than closing and opening each one but not when I get the pop-up to save frequently.

Sounds like after a global add/change the record won't show with that last changed date either unless it's opened.  That can be bad also if one forgot to check the box to create a query of changed records and needs to fix something. Ugh!
