Position

 

The Manager, Development Services creates and directs processes to ensure that contributions are received, recorded, acknowledged, and reported accurately and appropriately and that relationships with donors and prospects are maximized.  This position manages gift processing, gift reporting, prospect management, and other development and donor services.  This position will report to the Vice President of Development.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Portfolio management strategy to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of Directors of Development.  Initiate prospect research, data mining, and reporting efforts accordingly.
  • Routinely audit department functions and efficiencies.
  • Manage development services staff and all personnel-related issues, including hiring, staff training and development, accountability to goals, etc.
  • Manage systems for correspondence and reporting, gift acknowledgments, and giving societies.
  • Manage and approve the production of routine gift reports and stewardship reports.
  • Provide gift analytics for Development team and leadership as needed, including retention reports and lapsed donor reports.
  • Manage the development services budget, ensuring that the department operates within budget and properly stewards financial resources.
  • Establish policies and procedures related to donor confidentiality, gift acceptance, prospect clearance, donor benefit fulfillment, etc.
  • Implement and oversee gift administration policies and procedures to ensure that gifts, pledges, and pledge payments are recorded, receipted, and acknowledged accurately and in a timely manner.  Manage pledge reminder process.  Manage processes related to direct mail gifts.
  • Manage the tax receipt and acknowledgment system and make adjustments to processes when necessary.
  • Establish database standards for gift entry.  Conduct regular audits to ensure that all entries adhere to Foundation standards. Establish procedures and processes to maintain the highest levels of security and data quality.
  • Implement program to manage and track donor benefit fulfillment.
  • Providing assistance for special projects and general office support for the Bush Center as needed and assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

The qualified candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Five years related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

 

Additionally, the qualified candidate will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to develop, plan, implement and evaluate research strategies for integration into fundraising initiatives.
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills in addition to capable interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Preferably have experience with Raiser's Edge and Research Point.
