We are now one of the largest providers of mental health, foster care and adoption services in Texas, and we have an exceptional opportunity for an individual who desires to be instrumental in advancing our vision.This position is responsible for heightening awareness of DePelchin's mission by expanding the visibility of DePelchin in Houston and surrounding areas, being actively engaged in working to establish and cultivate long-term relationships and strengthen existing relationships in the corporate and foundation sector, as well as other key communities that will result in funding for the immediate and long term goals of the agency. Reporting directly to the President and CEO and participating with the Executive Leadership Team, this position maintains close ties with board members, foundations, corporate leaders and individual donors or prospective donors to keep them informed regarding the work of DePelchin Children's Center and to solicit support for the agency. This positions supervises directly or indirectly a staff of six with responsibility for Fund-Raising, Marketing and Communication, Public Relations and Data Management.RequirementsThis position requires a high level of specific knowledge, experience and creativity. The successful candidate will be comfortable in highly visible settings whether they be inside the agency or outside in various community settings, and will possess the ability to make complex judgments and decisions that have positive long range funding, reputation and legal implications for the organization. As with any Advancement position, the incumbent must be able to bear rejection and loss well and have a passion for anonymity.* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required. Advanced degree preferred.* Minimum of 8 years experience in fund development required with at least 2 years in fund development executive management* Must be able to produce evidence of a successful history of fund development, board development and volunteer coordination.
