Conditional Mail Merge Error

Options

I am trying to creat a new Conditional Mail Merge.

I have all of my letters named and created. When I hit "finish" I get a pop up box that in the top left corner  reads RE7

and the error is: "This action cannot be completed because the other application is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy application and correct the problem."

It also gives me a "retry" button, but picking either of these options doesn't do a thing.  I am just hanging as the little world keeps turning.....

Sooooo frustrating!

Hi Jill, I get that message when I already have a word merge window open - I find I have to close that word document completely, and then run the next one. The second time I sometimes get that happen is when Word gets hung up on something. In that case, I use Alt-Tab to pull up my active programs, and switch to Word using that, which often works! I'm sure someone else can give you a proper technical fix, but this may help in the meantime. Cheers Aldera

     Hi Aldera,

Thanks for your reply. That wasn't my issue and I did find out why it was giving me the error. I hadn't saved my letters where they needed to be saved. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the date on the letter to coninside with the date I'm printing the letter, not the gift date......why is nothing easy to figure out?!

I replied on the other thread re: the date, hopefully that works. Someday, I will figure it all out, and it will be on the day of my retirement. :)

Can you tell me where you found that you should be saving your file?  I have a sneaky suspicion that's my problem, that BB can't find the file to do the merge.
