Do you mean the check box to automatically soft credit this individual for gifts when in spouse relationship or the ability to set RE to default to checking the box for spouses?   :)  Neither is new.  I think I learned about them at the very first training I went to.

Glad you found it and that it's helping!

No, on the toolbar Constituent> Soft credit for Spouse's gifts (under make constituent an org).  If it's not new, then somehow I just noticed it [:S]

    LOL - don't think that's one's new either.

Honestly, don't know that I've used it though as we have RE set to automatically SC spouse gifts.

It's always fun to find "new" RE things/shortcuts or even be reminded of forgotten ones.  One of the things I like about the forum.

It is not new. I have to use it frequenly as sometimes the spouse gets added after the donor has made several gifts and it is so quick and easy. One trick I learned. It only works between spouses but if you need to do it between others you can "temporarily" make them a spouse and then use it then remove the spouse checkbox. I have even temporarily made an org record an individual, marked it as a spouse to use this tool then changed it back to an org and voila - quick way to add a bunch of soft credits. Melissa

How to default to unchecked box for "automatically soft credit this individual for gifts" when in spouse relationship?

Is there an easy way to globally uncheck all the spouse relationships that have the ASC box checked?

How do you set the RE default for spouses to be soft credited? I only know how to do this within each individual.

Thank you the article was helpful to globally uncheck the soft credit to spouses.

Is there a way to default to unchecked box for "automatically soft credit this individual for gifts" for new data entry?

I had a few minutes so was looking for answer to Gloria and Haley's questions. I went into RE as supervisor to get to all the configuration options and I'm not finding anywhere to default a setting for SC, checked or unchecked. I thought there was. Does anyone else know where a default option is for SC spouses?
  • I really thought there was an option for this, too, JoAnn!  But I'm not seeing it, either.

Thank you both for looking at this. Maybe the ability to change the default setting of SC box could be added in a future release. For now we will just train our staff to un-check the box manually during data entry.

Is there an efficient way to remove the soft credit from already entered gifts?
