The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. The MRF is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients, caregivers and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma. Position: The Database Assistant under the direction of the Database Administrator is responsible for processing donations received by the Melanoma Research Foundation. The primary area of responsibility lies in accurate and timely gift entry, gift acknowledgment, and timely transmission of batch income to the external accounting firm. The Database Assistant is also responsible for creating and updating donor contact and demographic information as necessary. Job Description: Prepare deposit logs, cash and checks on a daily basis. Process gifts and acknowledgement letters through the Raiser's Edge database . Prepare and review acknowledgement letters and disseminate. Transmit batch reports to the external accounting firm on a weekly basis. File batch paperwork when donation processing steps are completed. Update donor records for new and/or updated contact information. Assist Database Administrator with various database projects as needed. Export mailing lists and run queries, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: Experience using donor database systems required; Raiser's Edge experience strongly preferred Proficiency with data entry and very detail oriented Knowledge of nonprofit gift processing systems and/or development experience a plus Knowledge of running queries and reports Flexibility to work extra hours during high-volume donation periods to ensure donations are processed in a timely manner Efficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with a minimum of one year of experience in a non-profit environment Equivalent combination of education and work related experience may be considered.
