Position Summary

The Director of Philanthropy provides overall leadership for the Philanthropy Department to maximize the fundraising efforts and donor engagement on behalf of Historic Charleston Foundation. It is the role of the Director of Philanthropy to plan, administer and evaluate Historic Charleston Foundation's fundraising and donor cultivation efforts, direct strategic planning efforts for the Philanthropy Department, develop and implement long-range and annual goals and draft budgets.  The Director of Philanthropy provides leadership for the Philanthropy team and serves as a liaison with other departments as needed for the fulfillment of the Foundation's mission. The Director of Philanthropy position is full-time exempt and reports to the President/CEO.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. CFRE credentials and/or Master's degree in non-profit management or public administration preferred.
  • 8 years of progressive development experience with a proven track record of success in all phases of working with donors
