Source of Constituent

Where does one include the source of a constituent? There is an address source, but I swear I've looked high and low and can't seem to find constituent source. We would consider using "Researched," "Board Prospect," among others. Thoughts?

We have a required constituent attribute.  I have a drop down table for the description that includes things like: Solicitor requested, board list, chamber/elected official list, campaign volunteer, prospect committee list...  Have found the attribute useful and helpful in maintaining database.

I would definitely use a table for consistent entry and querying.

(Just another FYI - For the solicitor requested records, we also have a seconde attribute: RE Source: Individual Adding with a description field that looks up and fills with name of a constituent. Have also found this useful for database clean-up)

  • I know this is late but our organization use the "Target" field on Bio2, to track a constituent's source.  However, this only works if you have not use the field to track previous information.  We renamed the field according to what we wanted and added the values to that table.  You could change the field to say "CONST SOURCE" or something like that.
  • We too have an attribute called Constituent Source - and then a drop down menu.  In the comments we add the name of the individual who requested the record be created.
