Prospect Research Coordinator Human ResourcesFriday, May 2, 2014 Coordinates and conducts specialized research to prepare reports on corporations, private foundations, and individual donors to support University wide development efforts. Collects and analyzes data to identify and qualify new prospects. Updates and maintains central donor prospect files (database and hard copy). Assists with other development activities as needed. Works collaboratively with the Advancement Services Manager on assigned tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Prepares research profiles with biographical, financial, and giving information. Monitors newspapers, websites, news reports, and magazines for updates on prospects and donors. Updates prospect and donor information uncovered from research in Raiser's Edge and hard files. Develops ongoing practices to keep research data current. Actively identifies new prospective donors. Conducts searches for new corporate and foundation funding. Produces queries and reports to track donor trends to the University. Analyzes data to identify targeted and strategic prospective donor groups. Assists with the organization of the planned giving program. Assists with the organization and maintenance of donor files. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree required; Minimum of one to three years' experience working in an advancement/fundraising office. Previous experience working with donors preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Proficiency with an integrated administrative system and current desktop software programs required; an understanding of databases used in fundraising/alumni affairs preferred
