The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a non-profit, educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world's fastest jets and a guided missile submarine. Opened in 1982, the Museum, anchored aboard the former USS Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark, has welcomed more than 2 million visitors since 2012. The Mission of the Intrepid Museum is to promote the awareness and understanding of history, science and service through its collections, exhibitions and programming, in order to honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is searching for a Manager of Records and Data. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement (IA) and collaborating with staff members across multiple departments, this professional member of the IA staff is responsible for the institution's constituent database (Raiser's Edge).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure and maintain the highest standards of data integrity for member, donor and constituent records
  • Provide database support for all fundraising activities including campaigns, membership, grant seeking and special events
  • Write database queries, pull lists and reports
  • Monitor online donations and integration into database
  • Reconcile monthly income financial reports between database and Finance department
  • Provide support and training for staff across Museum departments on matters relating to records management and reporting
  • Assist the SVP, and IA staff members in developing and implementing proactive strategies to constantly improve the integrity of data in the database
  • Work closely with IT to coordinate maintenance, data uploads and to troubleshoot problems with the data and/or the database product
  • Collaborate with IT department to coordinate and plan for future data conversions/upgrades as needed
  • Maintain and upgrade user documentation for system processes and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required by management

 

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience; and a minimum of three years' experience in a fundraising department, or with a fundraising database (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Common Ground, etc.).  Proficiency in data analytics, data extracts and presentation of summarized information. Experience working with SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or other report-writing tools a must.  Familiarity with web-based fundraising systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with Import-O-Matic a plus. This candidate will have the ability to liaise with a variety of technical and operational personnel; strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a results and service-oriented attitude with special attention to responding timely with accuracy and precision. This person should be able to work independently, as well as in a fast paced, collaborative team environment. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and other overtime as necessary.
