Batch - Mass Delete

Options
Is there no such thing as "Shift + Click" in Raiser's Edge? I have been tasked with deleting all old batches, but as far as I can tell, the only way to accomplish this is one batch at a time. I have to select a batch to delete, RE opens the batch, then I am asked to confirm. With about 1700 batches for each year from 2010 to 2014, this is a tremendous exercise in tedium. The same issue exists for moving batches into batch folders: one at a time. This is a cry for help.

I'm answering from memory as I'm not logged in with my supervisory rights.  Don't know that RE has 'shift+click' function. Last month I deleted all batches from previous year as business office wants them kept until audit approved so I think I remember what I did. (Yes, I know one can query on gifts in a batch, but due to a few changes to gifts made after batch is committed, we keep batch reports.)

If you right click, you have the option to delete multiple batches.  It gives you the list of all your batches and you have to check box by each name.  Then you click delete now.  Doesn't open each batch, etc.  Huge improvement over individually but still takes time.

Are you moving currently created batches into folders or old ones.  If you have a 2014 batch folder, try to get users to save to that folder when they save the batch.  Already existing ones, as far as I know you have to move one by one [:'(]

Wow, I cannot believe I missed that 'delete multiple batches' option. That's what I get for tackling this at 8am I guess, haha. Thank you, you are a life (and time) saver! As for the moving of batches, that is all under control, except for the multiple move, but they've all been migrated now (using the 'analog' method).

Don't get too excited... that delete multiple option isn't available everywhere.  It works for batches and queries.  If you want to delete multiple exports or mail functions, and some others, it's one by one...

I've also had to limit how many batches or queries I select at one time.  I've had RE hang when I've tried to do too many at once. I haven't done this in a while (passed onto someone else) but I think I kept the number to delete under 50 and I didn't have any problems.
