About the National Math and Science Initiative-

NMSI was formed to address one of this nation's greatest economic and intellectual threats - the declining number of students who are prepared to take rigorous college courses in math and science and equipped for careers in those fields. To flourish in the 21st century, the United States must continue to generate intellectual capital that can drive the economic engine of our future prosperity. This crucial project was initiated as a public-private partnership, led by private donors such as Exxon Mobil Corporation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Raiser's Edge Database Manager works with the development team to insure that fundraising goals to meet the monetary budget required to fund the work of the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI).  The position will focus specifically on the daily management of the NMSI constituent database, providing reports from constituent data, management of donor acknowledgements and other constituent correspondence, and close coordination and cooperation with the development team.  The Raiser's Edge Database Manager will plan, create, develop and oversee all data management, data processing and systems that promote and support a moves management system.  Additionally, the position assists in donor communication and stewardship.  Involves and engages appropriate partners in the field and staff, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creating and managing an effective database to support prospect management and gift processing; develop and produce the appropriate reports needed for planning, tracking and executing annual fundraising programs; assist with the development of the annual work plan to ensure strategies are in place to achieve annual goals

  • Assume a leadership role in developing and refining the NMSI reporting processes and participate in developing strategies to streamline reporting functions and accuracy in support of the priorities and goals of the organization

  • Strategize with the Finance Department to ensure the Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge programs are poised to handle growth

  • Tasks include, but are not limited to, gift processing & acknowledgement, data and donor information management, financial reporting and assistance with research and administration

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-8 years previous Raiser's Edge database administration experience

  • Experience in a non-profit and/or cultural environment highly desirable

  • Understanding of state registration laws as pertains to non-profits

  • Strong database administration skills.

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems

     

    COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must be proficient in Raiser's Edge

  • Competency of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
