Copy and Paste problem

Options
Scenario: User attempts to copy text information from Bio 1 tab into Notes. Using either CTRL+C and then CTRL+V; or, using the copy and paste functions in the pull down menus, the result when pasting is the PDF symbol. If you click on the PDF symbol, nothing. Any ideas about what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

What exactly are you trying to copy from Bio1?  More than one field?  When I highlighted phone type and # and went to paste it in notes, I got the last paste thing I did previously (link info from a website).  (Perhaps last thing you did paste for was related to a PDF - just a stab in the dark.) When I just highlight phone # that is entered, then I am able to copy & paste.  Seems to work fine for the several fields I tested.

Thanks for the reply. The problem exists whether we try to copy Address, City, Zip, Phone number, email, etc. Any text copied out of Bio 1 into Notes results in the PDF symbol. We can copy and paste the text from RE into Word with no problem.

I should also mention that the problem is limited to one user. Other users are not having this issue.

The first question that comes to mind is why are you copying and pasting contact info from Bio 1 into Notes?  If you have new contact info, i.e., address, phone, email etc.  That should be added as a new address on the Address Tab and the old contact info should be marked as such with an end date.

Second, whenever I have had one user have an issue, it is usually because their security rights are different that others, something is corrupted on their computer that keeps it from functioning properly, or there is just a ghost in the machine in regards to that user.  When all else fails, give the user name a new log in and deactivate the old user name. Do not delete it, just deactivate.

Ditto what Christine said about copying address info etc.  Why?  Notes is not the best option in anyway to store old address info.  If it's address info you want to maintain, post that and I'd be glad to list steps to adding new address and keeping old one. :)
