The Pratt Library is looking for an energetic and dynamic Development Assistant/Associate to join the Institutional Advancement Team. We will consider a broad range of experience and qualifications. Types of candidates might include:A fast-learner with excellent software and people skills who is looking to gain entry into the fundraising and development field.A seasoned, not-for-profit, development associate with excellent Raiser's Edge or another donor management software.Title and salary will be commensurate with experience/qualifications.The ideal candidate is a highly organized team-player with strong software skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Previous database management experience is a must; Raiser's Edge experience is a plus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry into donor management software (Raiser's Edge) for the receipt, processing and recording of gifts; event planning and logistics support; donor relations; and office management. This position reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement. Summary of Duties:Gift ProcessingOpen mail and record gifts (including on-line donations) into Raiser's Edge; Export data to Excel to produce daily transaction reports; Scan gift documentation to electronic filing system; Prepare customized or routine gift acknowledgment letters using mail merge; Maintain constituent records and create mailing lists. Event Planning and SupportAssist in planning and managing donor/cultivation events, create invitations and mailing lists, track RSVP's, work with facilities and catering; Use event module software in Raiser's Edge for event planning; Work with outside consultants; recruit and coordinate Library volunteers for special projects and events. Donor RelationsRespond, where appropriate, to phone, e-mail, and mail communications from known donors and other correspondents seeking information about giving opportunities and Library programs; Provide routine or follow-up information to donor inquiries. Office ManagementEstablish and manage office administrative routines including requests for IT and facility help, office supply purchases and distribution, and distribution of mail and phone messages; Monitor the internal departmental budget and submit check requests for staff and vendor reimbursements; Coordinate/schedule Institutional Advancement calendar; Prepare meeting materials  Minimum Qualifications:Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field. 2 years experience in an administrative assistant position. Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and advanced proficiency with at least one type of database management software. Desired Qualifications3+ years experience in a not-for profit development office. Advanced level proficiency with Raiser's Edge or another fundraising/donor management software. 1+ year of Event Planning experience.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAttention to detail; Ability to mulitask and follow through in a high-volume and high-pressured environment; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to organize and prioritize work; Ability to work independently with little supervision; Excellent interpersonal skills; Proven administrative and organizational skills; Experience in and commitment to a team approach to work completion. Apply here - http://tinyurl.com/Development-Asst-Assoc
