Deleting an Appeal Code

I want to keep our database clean, and the new person entering gifts has not done that.  How would I go about deleting a wrong appeal code?

First you have to remove the wrong appeal code from any records, adjustments, write offs etc. 

And you have to have the admin/supervisor rights to delete an appeal - those may or may not have been restricted.  I believe you can just do it from Records > Appeals, open appeal and select Delete.

I don't think it's a difficult thing

1. From the Raiser's Edge bar, select Records.

2. Click the Appeals link.

3. Open the appeal you want to delete.

4. Select File, Delete from the menu bar or click Delete in the toolbar. A verification message appears.

5. Click Yes to delete the appeal and return to the Appeals page.

 If someone is adding appeal codes, you actually may not have enough security.  You should make sure that the ability to add appeal records is restricted.  We've had this problem too, lock it down.  Sometimes it is innocent, but careless.
