Job Description:  The Information Systems Manager has Society-wide responsibility for a broad range of computer technology and network communications functions.   and is responsible for performing data analysis and reporting via the Raisers Edge database application.  He/she is  the main point of contact with vendors for all software applications and services and supervises  a part-time Content Management Assistant.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Information Systems Administration and Oversight 
  • Technical administration of all Society web sites:
1.    New Jersey Audubon (www.njaudubon.org)
2.       BirdCapeMay (www.birdcapemay.org)
3.       World Series of Birding (www.wsob.org)
4.       Birding and Wildlife Trails (www.njwildlifetrails.org)
Oversight of web hosting services and web platform software.  Direct interaction with outside programmers and graphic designers.  Troubleshoot and solve hosting or network-related problems with the sites.  Provide training and technical support for all staff who are responsible for creating and maintaining content on each of the web sites. (Currently, the site is run on the DotNetNuke (DNN) content management system but is migrating to Word Press.) Perform content updates to the site's main landing pages as required.  Perform analysis of web traffic and content using Google Analytics, prepare reports on a regular basis. 
  • Technical and administrative oversight of all mission-critical software applications and services:
1.       Blackbaud Raiser's Edge membership database, and Blackbaud NetCommunity
2.       CapWiz net advocacy system
3.       Backup Disaster and Recovery Services (HQ file server)
The Information Systems Manager is the main point of technical and administrative contact with all providers of software applications and services. Establishes relationships with account reps and technical support reps, participates in contract negotiations and approvals, reviews and approves vendor invoices, oversees troubleshooting of major problems.  


  • Technical implementation and administration of NetCommunity eblast system.

Create design templates for various email categories; create email mailing lists for specific target audiences; schedule, prepare and send email communications according to eblast policy guidelines; review and report on email delivery and bounce statistics. 

  • Technical implementation and administration of NetCommunity online interactive calendar.
 Creation of online calendar pages in the NetCommunity content management system.  Assemble calendar information that is submitted by the various Centers and enter it into the corresponding calendars. Provide technical training as needed to allow Centers to update their own online calendars. 


  • Technical implementation and administration of CapWiz net advocacy system.
 Main point of technical and administrative contact with CapWiz; provides training and technical support for Government Relations staff members.  Provides statistics and reports on advocacy responses. 


  • Technical oversight and administration the HQ file server and its backup systems.
 
  • Technical administration and oversight of the Society's Gmail account for staff email addresses and user groups
 
  • Establishing and maintaining all computer systems at the central office, including the network server, printers, back-up units and emergency battery units, and computer software and hardware upgrades.  Provide
