The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health invites applications for the position of Data Maintenance and Integrity Specialist.

 

Established in 1996, the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to elevate the priority of children's health and increase the quality and accessibility of children's health care through leadership and direct investment. The Foundation fundraises for research, training, and patient care at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and for pediatric and obstetric programs at the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Foundation also supports communications, advocacy, and health care system development to elevate the priority of children's health in California and enhance opportunities for children in the state to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Position Summary 

 

The Data Maintenance and Integrity Specialist reports to the Database Manager. Primarily, the Data Maintenance and Integrity Specialist is responsible for maintaining the currency and accuracy of information in the Foundation's CRM database through documented data standards and daily monitoring of database activity. The Data Maintenance and Integrity Specialist develops working relationships with the Foundation's development and administrative staff and is responsible for actively expanding the information retained in the database to meet the growing needs of fundraising staff, particularly annual fund, stewardship, research, and gift processing staff. Secondarily, the Data Maintenance and Integrity Specialist participates in receiving, recording, and acknowledging donations as needed. 

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Effectively integrate into and support the overall goals of the Development Services team, which includes the maintenance of current and accurate donor information and the timely processing and acknowledging of donations.
  • Monitor day-to-day integrity of database and database procedures by conducting daily, weekly, and monthly audits of data to confirm use of accurate data entry processes.
  • Actively liaise with other Development staff including research, stewardship, and field staff to receive, research, and record updated donor information and to identify and eliminate redundant records.
  • Import large volumes of data into the donor database from ancillary software programs.
  • Assist end users with development of accurate database queries, reports, and exports.
  • Assist in fulfilling end user database maintenance requests for the creation of new data elements in CRM database.
  • Assist the Database Manager with the development of data management and data entry procedures, and assist in providing staff training, as necessary, to ensure consistent data entry standards utilized by all Foundation staff.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Possesses relevant experience with information management, specifically in the areas of data maintenance and integrity and ideally with Raiser's Edge or other donor database software
  • Thinks systematically about problems and is successful at finding appropriate solutions
  • Takes initiative and is self-motivated
  • Able to work independently and be a team player
  • Possesses a strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and prioritize well
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and customer-service oriented
  • Able to successfully interact with Foundation and Hospital staff, as well as donors
  • Completes tasks in a timely manner
  • Familiar with training others in a patient, respectful manner that leads to retention of the material
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality especially with regards to donor information
  • Able to perform accurate and efficient data entry
  • Proficient with Raiser's Edge v.7.9x, Omatic Software applications: Import Omatic and SegmentOmatic, MS2010 Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Available to work overtime on an occasional basis (year-end and audit)

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
