ABOUT THE POSITION: This position reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for coordinating all accounting functions within the Foundation (a designated support organization of Florida A&M University). This includes ensuring compliance with applicable university policies and local, state, and federal requirements; coordinating, planning, assigning and reviewing staff's work; ensuring timely reporting of financial results; reviewing and approving bank reconciliations; reviewing and approving set-up of new accounts, including plant funds; reviewing and approving plant fund entries as well as various other journal entries; reviewing and approving entries into Blackbaud's Financial Edge and associated reconciliations with source information in Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge; advising and consulting with administration and management regarding plans and issues associated with the financial records of the Foundation; assisting with various year-end duties and reconciliations; assisting Foundation fund owners with financial and account analysis; maintaining effective relationships with internal and external parties; representing the Foundation in meetings related to financial matters. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two years of general ledger and managerial experience. Preference will be given to applicants with at least five years of experience, hands-on experience with Blackbaud's Financial Edge and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
