Development Services Specialist

The mission of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida is to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families and to be the compassionate guide for end-of-life care in our community.

Position Summary:

Using independent judgment and initiative, this position supports the Foundation Executive Director, Associate Executive Director and the Donor Development Team by performing a variety of administrative and complex analytic and reporting duties requiring a thorough knowledge and proficiency of Foundation processes and procedures, fundraising principles, and the Raiser's Edge (RE) donor software.  This position is the primary resource for RE database queries and reporting, donor segmenting, donor list generation and timely donor acknowledgement materials/letters following established guidelines and meeting time objectives. This position will work in conjunction with the donor development team and the Development Services Manager to query and analyze data, donor activity and response rates/values to actively manage appeal effectiveness as well as be a primary resource for donor information and donor research. This position will exhibit confidentiality, flexibility and accountability in all aspects of roles.  

 Qualifications:

 Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three plus years' experience using Raiser's Edge software with demonstrated proficiency in accurate and efficient gift entry, gift and donor reporting, and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

 

 Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Raiser's Edge database system
  • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently using critical thinking and independent judgment
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize workload, multi-task, handle pressure, set priorities and work within organizational goals and deadlines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies

Location:  Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring

Department:  Foundation

Job Description:   Using independent judgment and initiative, this position provides administrative support to the Foundation office by performing a variety of responsible and confidential secretarial and administrative duties with an emphasis on excellent customer service and quality outcomes to support the Foundation's fundraising efforts. All tasks require a thorough knowledge of Foundation activities and procedures.  This position will exhibit confidentiality, flexibility and accountability in aspects of role. 

Job Requirements:       Bachelor's degree with two years nonprofit development support experience preferred; high school graduation plus two to three years of mid-level office support experience required.
