Can you add an appeal field in batch entry?

Options

We don't see anywhere we  can add the field of "appeal" so when gifts come in, we can tie gifts to them - this is mostly for bigger donors who get our appeals, then we get the money via a donor advised fund. We want to see in batch entry that they received our lapsed donor appeal to add it.  It's not 100% accurate that the person gave because of that appeal, but we don't know that it wasn't what prompted them to give.  But if they received a letter from our president, and a gift came in via a donor advised fund between now and the end of the year, i'd like to tie it to that letter.  But how do we make this easy on gift processing in batch mode? I could add an annotation, but then the folks will get pop ups on all of them, and that's a pain too.

     Rose,

Go to your batch set up.  For new gift batch your tabs are Headers, Fields, & Detail.  If you want to add it to an existing batch, open the batch, click on the batch design icon (just below the "T" in Tools.  You'll get the same screen as when creating a new batch.  Go to the field tabs.  Look for the word "Appeal" in the left pane.  Click it to move it to the right pane - the fields in your batch. Use arrow to position where desired.  Simple as pie.

If you want a pop up in batch when you enter the record of someone who got the letter, create a business rule.

     Rose,

Additional note, if your appeal has a default fund and/or campaign, if you position appeal field before those fields in your batch, those fields will autofill.
