POSITION DESCRIPTION:



To plan, cultivate, and direct the annual giving program of soliciting gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff, students and other constituents in order to increase participation and support, in addition to ensuring every donor receives appropriate recognition and thanks. 

Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 
  • Implement and manage all annual fund operations to solicit contributions from alumni, friends, parents, faculty and staff, students, and other constituents.
    • Develop annual fund materials, update web page copy.
    • Coordinate direct mail solicitations.
    • Coordinate a fall and spring semester donor call center.
    • Conduct personal, e-mail and telephone solicitations.
    • Develop new sources for support and cultivate donors.
    • Ensure annual fund yearly financial goals are met or exceeded.
    • Ensure personal donor contact goals are met or exceeded.
  • Responsible for implementing and supervising donor stewardship activities.
    • This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Write thank you letters from University President.
      • Write thank you letters from Executive Director for Development and Development Officers.
      • Arrange for recognition items, thank you notes, follow up phone calls, etc.
      • Participate in the planning of development events.
  • Coordinate student fundraising activities.
    • Manage student employee team of the donor call center.
      • Integrate the student team into the Development Office fundraising efforts.
      • Hire and supervise a student team leader and other students to serve the donor call center.
    • Oversee program to invite parents to give welcome kits, finals kits and birthday cakes to their students.
  • Oversee relevant budgets.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Work in close collaboration with the Development Office staff and other campus offices.
  • Help create a donor-centered office and assist in donor relations.
  • Perform such other college-related duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith.
  • A commitment to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years successful fundraising experience required. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs; willingness to learn and be efficient user of fundraising software. Raiser's Edge experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with volunteer staff and student employees.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to make proper independent decisions concurrent with university policy.
  • Courteous manner in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Periodic overnight travel is required.
