POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Annual Giving, the Development Services Coordinator is an integral member of the Development team and is responsible for providing development services leadership and in particular overall management of the Raiser's Edge Enterprise database.  This includes gift processing and acknowledgement, database integrity, prospect management, report generation, data analysis, entry of constituent data, and overall development system. This position is responsible for the maintenance and proper use of the Raisers Edge database and its integration with Blackbaud's NetCommunity. The Development Services Coordinator provides support and training to staff in the use of these systems, collaborates with the Finance Manager to ensure gifts are properly coded, communicated and reconciled, and works with IT on the database service and technical support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all aspects of gift entry and donor acknowledgement.
  • Add and update constituent records, globally and individually.   
  • Process all NetCommunity transactions and manage its integration with Raisers Edge.
  • Produce accurate and meaningful reports about campaigns, funds, appeals, donors and constituent engagement.
  • Provide data analysis and custom queries for end users in multiple departments.
  • Identify and research donor prospects.
  • Monitor the database regularly to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop, implement and maintain consistent data entry processes across departments.
  • Train technical and non-technical users on the use of the database.  
  • Collaborate with Director of Annual Giving to establish and maintain effective coding and recording of donor-related department actions. 
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure appropriate integration of data between Raiser's Edge and other Academy databases.
  • Collaborate with Finance Manager to create a seamless process of data entry and reporting.
  • Serve as liaison with Blackbaud and IT team to coordinate user support and ensure proper execution of database best practices and updates.
  • Attend timely Blackbaud training and serve as educator of best practices to colleagues.
  • Assist with departmental and institutional projects as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience managing systems and support for development programs using Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge Enterprise.
  • Proven data management abilities including data entry, query design, import, export and report production, with experience using events and actions modules.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and diverse populations.
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to train others on the use of constituent relationship management systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Strong commitment to the values and purposes of IMSA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous work in development at a higher education or specialized school setting.
  • High level analytical skills.
  • Experience using Blackbaud's NetCommunity.
  • Experience working with Crystal Reports and use of Raiser's Edge Pivot Reports.
  • Experience with prospect research in a development setting.
