Help - exporting email, landline and mobile numbers

Options

Hi - I'm after a bit of advice when exporting constituents with  email, mobile, landline and work phone numbers - I'm finding that the csv file that comes out has these in 4 columns but in no particular order i.e email then phone number or vice versa - I know this is because that the contact information is populated sometimes with email first then phone numbers and sometimes phone numbers first. Is there a way of setting up the export so the emails and numbers come out in dedicated columns?

 Any help much appreciated

     Hi, Owen.

To get the contact numbers/email addresses to appear in specific columns, you have to export each contact type one at a time.  That is, the first time you ask for contact number, ask for email; the next, mobile; the next landline; and the last, work phone. Ask for only 1 number to be returned in each case and filter by the contact type.

    Hope this helps.

     Hi Carol

Thank you for your help with this - I suppose I then use VLOOKUP in excel to populate the email and telephone columns from the exported information?

     Regards

You shouldn't need to. If you choose a phone number, then filter it for Landline, then click on Address again and go choose phone number again, it'll pop up the filter field again, and you can choose Mobile. Click on Address again, choose phone number again, and you'll get another filter popup, and you can choose email. Then your columns will export in the order you specify.

If done properly, what was suggested should result in one column for home number, one for work number, one for email, etc. Why would you need to use VLookup?

Hi Owen. Knowledgebase solution BB45339 provides step-by-step instructions and screen shots that should help clarify how to export specific phone types to specific columns.

     Hi Melissa

I hadn't realized that you can select phone number multiple times when exporting - I thought you could only select once and ask for it to pull say 5 numbers -I'm still a bit of a newbie!

     Thanks for your help
