Position Purpose

The Web Application Analyst in the Department of Information services will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Foundation's public website as well as the University's alumni/donor online community.  The website and content management system are hosted on a third party platform, Blackbaud's NetCommunity application.  The University's alumni/donor online community is a collaborative effort among major FSU stakeholders including the FSU Foundation, Alumni Association, Seminole Boosters, and the Ringling Museum.  The individual selected for this role will be a subject matter expert for this group, and is responsible for coordinating and implementing best practices.  Training of various stakeholders is instrumental in the success of establishing standards.

 

Principal Responsibilities

• Maintains the Foundation's website as well as the University's alumni/donor online community
• Design, develop, test, and maintain transactional web pages and parts within Blackbaud fundraising software products used by the University Advancement community
• Provide program support for Blackbaud fundraising software products and incorporates new functionality based upon end-user requirements
• Assist in designing adaptive and reflexive web templates and pages for tablets and mobile devices
• Serve as subject matter expert providing support and training to other web support staff within the Direct Support Organizations
• Coordinate application upgrades between vendor, IT team, and the Direct Support Organizations web user group
• Support Foundation's SharePoint portal implementation
• Stay current with latest technologies and utilize industry best-practice web-based standards and techniques
• Implement best-practice security measures across applications to protect and prevent against application vulnerabilities, hackers and intruders
• Preparing of design specifications/business requirements documents
• Develop SQL to be used for querying data and analyzing web content
• Coordinate system upgrades
• Assists the Department of Informational Services with other duties as assigned
• Protects confidential information

 

Education & Experience

 

• Bachelor's degree in finance, analytics, informatics, computer science, or related field required
• Minimum of 2 years of web design and development experience
• Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions
• Experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or JQuery required
• Knowledge of web site design for tablet and mobile devices
• Adobe Photoshop
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• Strong SQL programming or similar query language preferred
• Intermediate SQL scripting (T-SQL) capabilities
• Experience gathering business requirements for web design preferred
• Knowledge of Blackbaud Net Community (BBNC) or other content management systems preferred
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or higher preferred
