Independent Schools in Florida & the Southeast Successfully Using Crystal Reports

I work at a private school in South Florida and we currently use Raisers Edge as our main database, but have experienced difficulties trying to customize RE reports (i.e. Phonathon Sheets). We have moved to exporting our data into professionally created/customized Crystal Reports, specifically for phonathon sheets and solicitor performance reports for our Annual Fund.  We are looking to see how other similar institutions in Florida and the Southeast have dealt with customizing (or lack of) phonathon sheets and other Annual Fund solicitor reports.

• Do you code your solicitors in Raiser's Edge? 
  
• Do you use teams by grade?
• Have you had any success in customization?
• Do you use Crystal Reports? If so, do you upload them into RE to run them, or use Crystal externally?
  

 Any ideas, thoughts would be appreciated.
