Database Manager at Queens College/CUNY

The Queens College Development Office is seeking a Database Manager.  He/she should be proficient in Raiser's Edge version 7.91. 

Duties Include:

  • Assist the organization's users with Raiser's Edge inquiries and requests.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and any other necessary reports for distribution.
  • Maintain the structure of attributes, code tables, business rules, and all other set-up functions.
  • Maintain data integrity by establishing regular system checks in place, such as looking for records without constituent codes or addressee/salutations.
  • Handle global changes, importing and other global database functions.
  • Create and assist other users with Crystal Reports and Queries.
  • Assist with staff development for Raiser's Edge.
  • Coordinate database back-up and recovery procedures.
  • Create systems and scripts to enhance the efficiency of Raiser's Edge.
  • Analyze and generate reports for the Queens College Administration, Queens College Foundation Board of Trustees, and members of the Development staff. Update alumni information to ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop Visual Basic applications to enhance the database application.  Create Excel VBA scripts to convert different data formats from multiple sources into the database using MS Access and Excel.
  • Work closely with the College's OCT server group to help install, configure, upgrade and maintain SQL Servers 2000 database.  Conduct database performance tuning, troubleshooting and server hardware upgrade.
  • Provide general technical assistance to the Development Office, Alumni Office and the President's Office.  Work directly with users to resolve database applications issues.
  • Design, update and maintain the Development Office website to support on-line donations using PHP scripts and Java Scripts in corporation with the Raiser's Edge database.  Provide technical support for on-line transactions.
