Exporting total giving history with specific fields

Options
Hi, I need to submit a sample file to a consultant of the giving history of a select number of constituents. It needs to be in excel and have the following fields: First Name Last Name Org/Company Name Date of Gifts Amount Fund Campagin Appeal Transaction Method (cash, check, credit card etc) Check Date Check Number Any notes associated I am struggling to get the export to look the way I want. Ideally I would like it to be simliar to how the Constituent Giving History report is but I obviously do not have access to the required fields stated above. Any advice?

Advice?  Find out why a consultant needs some of the fields like check date, check # etc.  Seems unnecessary.  Does who this data is going to violate donor's right to privacy?

Just one other thought, if it's just a "sample file for a number of constituents, you could play with gift tab to add display for the info you want that most users don't show on the gift tab.  I think almost everything you listed is an option to have a column for on the gift window.  (RIght click on header columns to bring up menu option for 'columns' and select the ones you want.)  When you have all the fields, you can right click in the window to export the entire payment grid to excel.  Might work.

Use Export then merge into a table in directory in Word. Design your table to look like the Constituent Giving History report.

Since the consultant needs the file in Excel format you probably won't be able to reformat it to look like the Constituent Giving History report.  Use a Gift Export, include the fields that you mention and export to Excel.  You'll get one row per gift, and you can sort/group by constituent if needed (include constituent ID and name if you need to sort).

I am so confused. If you export - why merge into a directory in Word. That is such an overblown option for a simple request.

My thought - Export then send them the export!

Our consultant works for our organization so she is allowed to look at gift detail, we are doing some clean up/preparing for a large appeal mailing so we are trying to look at as much detail on gift records as possible.

My apologies. I took the "Ideally I would like it to be similar to how the Constituent Giving History report" part of the post to heart. But thanks for your "overblown" response.

It sounds like you need all gifts in your final output, not "total" gift amounts (cumulative)...if that's the case, I'd use a Gift Query & export directly from the query in this situation. You can output all the fields you mentioned.
