Duplicates in Crystal Report

Options

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out why my CR has some duplicates in it. I have a CR that is grouped by constituent code (group 1) and then by constituent name/key indicator (group 2). and then I'm listing all of their gifts in this fiscal year. Most of them are showing up just fine but a couple, for some reason, are showing the same gift twice. I can't seem to determine a pattern as to why this is happening with some and not others. I thought perhaps it was because it was a recurring gift, but it's only happening to one of the recurring gifts and not others.

 Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bekah

    Bekah,

Not sure if it has anything to do with the duplicates, but why are you using constituent name with key indicator for group 2?

What fields are in your details section?

    Thanks,

    Josh

Are you using the constituent constituent code or the gift constituent code?

Where are the duplicates appearing - same gift in two constituent code groups or the same gift in the name/key group?

Josh - mostly just to be able to double-check for things like this. It's supressed in the actual print version of the report.

In my details section are: GfFunds_1_Amount, Gf_Date, and Gf_Type.

Then I have the Fnds_1_Amount totaled in the group footer. I used the select expert to define the dates.

Melissa - I'm using the constituent constituent code (GfCnBio_Constit_Code). The dupes are appearing as the same gift in the same name/key group. So the one I know for sure is there is one person makes a recurring gift on the 30th of the month. So it should show up as 7/30/13 for $500 and 8/30/13 for $500. But both of those gifts are listed twice in the column. Exactly the same gift twice. This isn't happening with the other recurring gifts, though, that are in the report. They all show up once as they should.

Still not sure I understand the use of name and key indicator for a group.  Is that one field from the RE export, or are you combining them in a CR formula?  Either way, if you just want to group the gifts by donor I recommend using ConsID or Constituent Import ID for Group 2.  Not sure why you would need Key Indicator.

What type of export are you using?

For the gifts showing twice on the report, are they split gifts in RE?

Also, as Melissa might be heading, do the duplicate gifts only appear for constituents that have two (or more) Constituent Codes?
