Selecting Specific Attribute Comment for Export Using "Contains"

Options

I would like to be able to export a specific attribute that contains a fiscal year indicator, such as "2013-14."  I know that I can query using "contains" but when I go to the Word merge document, I don't have that function.  This specific attribute comment may also contain information after the fiscal year indicator, such as a committee or position, so I cannot use "equals."  Does anyone know how to have RE/Word insert the specific comment using a function similar to "contains"?  I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks in advance!

What field type did you pick for this attribute when creating it? Is it a drop down list or a text field. I believe the operators you get to choose from depend on the type of field used.

    Thanks for the response, Melissa!

The attribute Category and Description are tables but the Comments section is free-text. I want to pull data from the Comments section.

Unfortunately - comments can never really be considered data. This is probably why RE did not put many options into the querying of them.

Any Free text field is frought with issues if someone transposes numbers or uses spaces before or after your dash, your data will be incomplete. If you need to query on it, do not make it something you put into comments. Can you reconfigure your attributes (export and reimport into new attributes) so that the year is part of the category or description?
