Position Title:         Accountant I<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Reports To:            Finance Coordinator

Major Functions:    Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounting for Cash and Receivables, Fixed Assets, and other Accounting functions.  Provides assistance to the Finance Director and Finance Coordinator.

Full time, Non-exempt, Hourly

Primary Responsibilities:

 1.      Coordinates data and reporting of organization's statistics on a monthly and quarterly basis. Prepares and maintains aggregate data summaries and report trends. 

2.      Assists the Grants and Compliance Coordinator with statistical analysis and reporting and the compilation of information for grant writing.

3.      Administers and coordinates all financial data for the donor tracking system (Raiser's Edge).

4.      Reviews, validates and reconciles daily cash receipts and donated services into the donor tracking system (Raiser's Edge) and updates donor information if applicable. Insures that Donor and Grant data is accurately transferred from the Raisers Edge System to the Financial Edge System. Reviews accuracy and collectability of Pledges.

5.      Processes weekly Accounts Payable.

6.      Coordinates process for organization's fixed assets and maintains asset/inventory database in the accounting system (Financial Edge).

7.      Conducts or oversees annual asset inventory.

8.      Coordinates purchasing for all locations. Organizes purchases of equipment, supplies and materials of significant volume or dollar value.

9.      Works cooperatively with various departments to meet fiscal goals. Assists in month end accounting close.

10.  Participates in organizational committees and meetings, such as Performance Quality Improvement (PQI).

11.  Supervises volunteers on appropriate projects.

12.  Assists with Bank reconciliations, audits, and other accounting procedures.

13.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

 1.      High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

2.      2-5 Years accounting experience preferred.

3.      Proficient in Microsoft office software applications.

4.      Knowledge of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge/Financial Edge preferred.

5.      Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.

6.      Possess a valid Florida State Drivers License and auto insurance to be annually verified.

7.      Willingness and ability to drive agency vehicles.

8.      Agree to participate in a background check upon employment.

9.      Must possess excellent organization skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with complex issues.

10.  Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
