It's too late for me to vote but if I could, I'd vote yes, allow promotional posts in appropriate places. When I see older posts doing what my post wasn't allowed to (thus prompting this post and poll) and I see users asking about various functionality they are looking for I don't see why appropriate, targeted promotional posts shouldn't be permitted on these forums.

But that's me and I have a product to promote (Email Manager, an RE7 plugin which links to your email management service for direct-from-RE list upload and results download). I expect this post will be shunted as well, now. There's always BlackBus, LinkedIn and the like, I guess.
