Advancement Operations Manager

 

The Trustees of Reservations are seeking an Advancement Operations Manager to join our Advancement team. The Trustees own and care for more than 100 of the most beautiful places in Massachusetts, including Crane Beach, World's End, and Cape Poge. Learn more at www.thetrustees.org.

 

The Advancement Operations Manager is responsible for supporting and enhancing the operations of the Advancement Department of The Trustees of Reservations. This position helps to ensure consistently excellent quality of gift and data processing, donor acknowledgments and reporting. This position reports to the Director of Advancement Services and is based at Long Hill in Beverly. This opportunity is full-time, but consideration for a 30-35 hour work week may be made for well-qualified applicants.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises the Gift Processor, providing training and support as well as ensuring best practices are followed for the timely and accurate processing of contributions; suggests and implements procedures for data entry efficiency and clean-up.
  • Provides critical centralized support for various Advancement Department programs and staff (including the Chief Development Officer, Annual Giving team, and Major Gifts team). This includes creating detailed reports, analysis, and queries and performing complex data and appeal segmentation, imports, exports and mail merges.
  • Assists the Associate Director of Advancement Operations in proper gift accounting, monthly reconciliation with the Accounting Department and during the annual audit process.
  • Helps develop written best practices, protocols and guidelines for the Operations program and ensure proper adherence.
  • Works with the Director of Advancement Services on a variety of special projects.
  • The Advancement Operations Manager will work closely with the Director of Advancement Services to achieve the overall goals of superior customer service, excellent data integrity and strong operational support for the Advancement Department.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus experience in an Advancement setting preferred.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge database required.
  • Experience with Convio (Luminate) and Crystal Reports strongly preferred.
  • Experience with best practices and procedures related to entry of biographical and financial data.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and donors.
  • Other computer skills desired include proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Commitment to strict confidentiality of donor information.
