Digital Communications Assistant, NY

Objective: The Digital Communications Assistant will support the execution of GLSEN's digital communications strategy promoting GLSEN's brand, programs and groundbreaking research. The position will create content for GLSEN's social media platforms and GLSEN.org, as well as create content and build pages for GLSEN.org. The Digital Communications Assistant will help maintain constituency groups in GLSEN's Constituent Relationship Management software and build emails for constituent engagement. The position will also run GLSEN's online store and provide customer support. The Digital Communications Assistant will report to the Online Strategies Manger, and will support tracking and assessment of the results and effectiveness of GLSEN's constituent engagement, social media and on-line marketing and outreach strategies.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

Responsibilities:

 

Digital Content

 

  • Create content and pages for GLSEN's website
  • Build website performance metrics reports
  • Create content for social media platforms and assist Online Strategies Manager in implementing social media engagement strategy
  • Monitor social media platforms and build performance metrics reports
  • Create content for GLSEN's blog and support Departments in creating blog content
  • Support implementation of new online Student Ambassadors program, engaging students online to create content for GLSEN's digital platforms and provide logistical support for GLSEN's Ambassadors Summit
  • Provide digital communications support to GLSEN Chapters

 

Constituent Engagement & E-Commerce

 

  • Help maintain constituency groups and list segmentation in GLSEN's CRM database to ensure data integrity
  • Build emails, share pages and fundraising pages in GLSEN's CRM
  • Build performance metrics reports of GLSEN email campaigns and campaign web pages.
  • Support Departments in creating emails for various constituency groups

 

GLSEN Store

 

  • Provide customer support
  • Maintain stock and order merchandise
  • Maintain back-end of store, generating sales codes, uploading new merchandise and adding purchase order requests
  • Build sales reports for Operations Department

Required skills:

 

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Knowledge of and experience working in social media and managing social campaigns

Experience working with a CRM preferred

Experience creating content for websites

Basic HTML

Strong adherence to deadlines

Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability in managing multiple projects at once

BA/BS required

 

This position is located in GLSEN's New York City headquarters.
