The Heritage Foundation is seeking a Database Assistant for a temporary, full time position. The job will be for approximately 3 months with the possibility of extending beyond.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Database Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of the donor database, including inputting and updating data and implementing record keeping procedures, as well as processing gifts.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Accurately input and update data, and develop consistent record keeping procedures
  • Assist in developing and generating financial reports to track income, create budgets, and maximize giving
  • Process Major Grants, monthly credit card and matching gifts and coordinate with writers and regional managers to ensure proper follow-up
  • Generate donor lists for various events
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to formulate improved business practices and documentation standards
  • Serve as the main database contact point for staff and train staff in order to maintain the integrity of the database

SKILL FACTORS

Education: BA/BS

Experience: 1-2 years database management and/or accounting experience preferred

Computers: Excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Raiser's Edge preferred.

Special Skills:
  • Experience with database management systems, preferably in a fundraising environment.
  • Serve as the main database contact point for staff and train staff in order to maintain the integrity of the database
  • Confident in ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks while setting appropriate priorities to achieve goals.
  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America and the department's goals and objectives.
