Exporting Total Giving for a certain time period but exclude previous pledge payments

I'm trying to run an export that shows total new giving including new pledges from 06/01/2012---to date. I don't want to include payments made during that time period (06/01/2012---to date) if they were applied to a previous pledge that was made before 06/01/2012. How can I accomplish that?

Are you including pledges and pledge payments for pledges made after 6/1/12?  For total giving wouldn't that be double counting?

Hi,

exclude the previous year payments made during the current fiscal by excluding the previous year campaigns if you use separate campaigns for each fiscal. and if you want to avoid double counting of pledge and pledge paymens for this year use gift balance instead of gift amount in your export.
