New Canaan Country School is seeking a highly skilled technical systems manager to join our team.



The ideal candidate will be someone with a solid understanding of databases, web technologies, and software development. In addition, exceptional communication and project planning skills will be required to interface with and coordinate across disparate departments and their technology systems.



Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the integration and synchronization of various databases and computer systems through the development of intermediary scripts / tools.
  • Facilitate, document and design a set of formal data entry and synchronization procedures.
  • Maintain and develop the website in conjunction with the part-time Digital Communications Associate
  • Train staff on technology and data integration best practices
  • Design database reports and queries
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools
  • Assist with managing user accounts on network and various systems
  • Monitor database performance and integrity
  • Provide technical support to administrative users



Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 5 years prior experience

  • An ability to see the big picture and balance numerous, sometimes competing priorities.
  • Database experience specifically including Blackbaud RE/EE/FE, Microsoft SQL Server, Crystal Reports, and FileMaker
  • Experience with web technologies such as PHP/ASP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various Content Management Systems
  • Ability to write scripts / code to automate processes
  • Technical documentation, training, and project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain procedures in writing or verbally.
