How to report on donors who gave a gift this year but their last gift was five years ago?

Hi everyone

Do anyone know a way to report on donors who gave a gift this year but their last gift was five years ago?  Using some of the BB solutions but I not getting what I want.  For example John Doe last gift was in 2008 but he gave this year.  I am trying to pull a list to see how many other donors has a big gap in their giving.  Thanks Guys!

Three summary gift totals.

1) total gift amount between 7/1/12 and 6/30/13 >0 (or whatever "this year" is)

2) total gift amount between 7/1/08 and 6/30/12 = 0

3) total gift amount between 7/1/07 and 6/30/08 >0

This is an old post, but I am running into a similar need to find donors who gave during a specific time period this year, but had not made a gift the past 18 months.  The above makes total sense to me, but which Report type have people found is best for exporting? Thank you.

There is also a canned report under Analytical Reports --> Comparative Reports.  You can enter this year's FY and whatever other window of time you want and it will give you a list of folks.  You can make it into an output query and export whatever fields you want to review on those records.
