 JOB TITLE: Donor Care Manager <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Development or assigned development staff, the Donor Care Database Manager will assume the leadership role in the management of constituent records used by the organization's development staff. This position serves as the administrator of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software system to track donations, update constituent information, and acknowledge donors. Provide support to the development staff by generating reports, ensuring staff and volunteers are trained in proper use of the database, developing and implementing policies to guide data entry, and making sure the database generates accurate financial and analytical reports. Works with development staff to coordinate the plan and strategies utilized in all mail campaigns.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.      Raiser's Edge Database Management

2.      Maintaining the donor database as a strategic resource in the implementation of development functions within the organization.

3.      Entering constituent data for all individuals and organizations, including address updates, constituent demographics, and relationship links.

4.      Produce reports and assist with general analysis of data as it relates to fundraising, donor recognition, donor visits and cultivation.

5.      Working with the development staff to enter notes and actions and set email reminders for donor follow-up and stewardship initiatives.

6.      Gift Processing -

Processes all gifts in a timely and accurate manner;

Provides expertise, training and counsel to office staff and volunteers to ensure proper acceptance and use of gifts in accordance with state, IRS and individual donor requirements;

Coordinates the acknowledgement of gifts, pledges, pledge payments, inkind donations, matching gift claims, tribute gifts and other contributions to the organization which may be of significant dollar values, and ensures accuracy;

Trains and manages volunteers in the proper use of the database and implements a Standard Operating Procedure for gift processing and acknowledgement;

Identifies new prospects and $1,000 donors for inclusion in the major donor stewardship program.

7.      Identifies prospects and $10,000 donors for review through query and donor research.

8.      Mail Campaigns -

Determines and prepares appeal mailing lists with the direction of the development staff, ensuring accurate salutations and addresses;

Executes mail merges, prints in-house appeal letters and address labels;

Coordinates the mail campaign processing

9.       Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 2 years experience in development, accounting or database management with an emphasis on data entry and/or gift processing. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred;

Excellent written and verbal communication required;

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability;

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines;

Knowledge of donor database management
