Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) seeking a TB Analyst in Swaziland

Options

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works in partnership with governments, partners, and other major stakeholders in developing countries to identify the key obstacles to access to appropriate medicines, and to develop sustainable strategies to overcome them.  CHAI's country teams, in partnership with CHAI's global Drug Access Team (DAT), work to help governments improve access and appropriate use of medicines critical to ensuring the health of their populations.  This includes understanding the market, facilitating access to lower drug prices, supporting the roll-out of new and improved products, and strengthening pharmaceutical systems.

Swaziland declared Tuberculosis (TB) a national emergency in 2011.  The country experiences the world's highest levels of TB per capita and Africa's highest levels of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) as a percentage of new and retreatment cases.  CHAI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and partners, hopes to expand approaches that have been successful in increasing availability of medicines and diagnostics for HIV to tackling the growing challenge of TB within the country.

The TB Analyst will be a key member of the CHAI Swaziland Access-to-Medicines team.  The position requires a highly motivated individual with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. The TB Analyst will work closely with the MoH, in collaboration with other NGO partners, to ensure the rapid scale up and effective management of high-quality diagnostics and treatments for patients with MDR-TB.
