Is there an easy way to send an email reviewer group the plain text copy of an email?

A few of our emails have a rather large list of reviewers.  In order to make testing easier we set up a reviewer list so that we could just push the button and send the email to the whole reviewers list and no one gets forgotten.  However, there doesn't seem to be any way to send both an HTML & plain text version of the message to this entire reviewers list.  When you check the 'send plain text version' checkbox above it doesn't work for the whole list like it does when you're just sending to yourself - it still only sends the HTML version. 

 

Is there any way in Convio to send both an HTML & plain text version to a large group of reviewers without having to manually type them all in each time?

Unfortunately there's not. That "send to a review group" function is designed to test just like a live send. It will render condtionals and deliver the email in the format that the recipient has chosen as their email type (html or plain-text). That quick test is really the only way that I've ever done a plain-text test. Can you just forward a plain-text test that you send to yourself to the rest of the team?

Yes, we can just forward an email.  I was just hoping there was an easy way to do this from the system.  Thanks for getting back so quickly Kent!

This is what I did



set up a separate gmail account devoted to receiving plain text reviewer messages (in my case it's called rumi.textonly@gmail.com)

have that account forward to my main email address

subscribe that special email address to convio and set it to receive plain text emails instead of html in the profile

add that special email address to reviewer groups
