  • Great to have this functionality in webview as well so if I am updating other things on a gift record, say adding an attachment, I am able to complete this update as well. That being said, I actually do most of my linking from gift batch entry so can't wait to see that move to webview as well

  • @Crystal Bruce Its good to have this feature in webview now.

  • @Crystal Bruce
We have not utilized the opportunity/gift linking functionality in the past. This was easy to do and interesting to explore.

  • @Crystal Bruce Great that this is an option. We use it all the time in database view to link gifts to opportunities. We typically link by starting in the opportunity record, but this makes sense as well.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I do not process or manage gifts, so I didn't know this functionality existed. I do think this could help our MG workflows.

  • @Crystal Bruce We track all of the grants we apply for as opportunities, so this was helpful to know about so I can go in and connect the opportunities to the gift we received!

  • @Crystal Bruce I have limited experience with the opportunities area. I was a little confused as to what “Name” should be entered - name of person adding info? name of solicitor? There is a space further down to Assign to Fundraiser, so I guess it's adding name of person entering info? Again, I've only had limited experience with Opportunities, but it seems to me that a better approach would be to have a list of prospects, their opportunities/amounts/dates etc. and do a global add rather than recording things one by one. Finally, how do I delete the test info I entered? I couldn't figure out how to get rid of what I entered!

  • @Crystal Bruce use this all the time in database view. Easy way to connect payment to opportunity after the gift is added.

  • @Crystal Bruce Linking was easy. It's not something we have done so not sure if it is something we will do going forward. If it can be done during gift entry/batch we would certainly consider it.

  • @Crystal Bruce I have explored opportunities and done a test link to a test gift record. It is so easy and I want to introduce it for my fundraisers' pipelines.

  • @Crystal Bruce I mostly use this linking in the database view and occasionally in NXT. I’ve completed the task in the test environment and am happy to have this option available in the web view if needed. Thanks!

  • @Crystal Bruce Nice to be able to link to an opportunity that's tied to another constituent.

  • @Crystal Bruce our Grants Manager has been using this function quite a bit in Webview! I had mostly worked with Opportunities (Proposals) in DB view but am gradually distancing myself (while still wearing the “you can pry DB view out of my cold dean hands” shirt!

  • @Crystal Bruce this was pretty easy and a welcome feature! Is it also available during gift entry?

  • @Crystal Bruce Love how much easier it is to link gifts to opportunities in web view. In our organization, we have some donors who are associated to multiple opportunities and this is so helpful when it comes to managing different pledges, pending payments, and cashflow.

  • @Crystal Bruce The ability to link a gift to an opportunity after the gift has been received and recorded in RE. is really helpful when reviewing pipelines and incoming funds.

  • @Crystal BruceTried this from a Gift record and linking it to an opportunity. Haven't tried this so far. Nice!

  • @Crystal Bruce, this is a helpful feature, and I'm glad to see that it has been duplicated over from database view. Question for you. I usually link gifts to proposals/opportunities (matching gifts, too) in batch in database view using keyboard shortcuts. Is this something that can be done in web view batch?

  • @Crystal Bruce we do use opportunities but haven't been linking them to gifts specifically. It's something we might want to consider. I tried it and it was easy and straight forward.

  • @Crystal Bruce
We are very new to RENXT and just starting to set up our use of Opportunities. This is a feature we will consider including in our process.

  • @Crystal Bruce I have used this feature frequently to keep opportunities updated. This feature has allowed me to create a comprehensive pipeline report that shows what has come in from opportunities (asks) and to show a predictive timeline of what we can expect to come in and when.

  • @Crystal Bruce We have used opportunities on/off in DB view and will need to implement regular use of this going forward - it was easy to use.

  • @Crystal Bruce
it works for me and that's ok. HOwever, if it works for a fundraiser who does not normally have gift entry permission, it would be better. I have not ask someone to try in my org though.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I have never used Opportunities and am not quite sure how it works. As we are heading into a capital campaign, this may be useful for moves management and tracking those we are wanting to do a big ask of.

  • @Crystal Bruce I use this function all the time as we are in the middle of a capital campaign that has pledges and proposals.

  • @Crystal Bruce Love having this in webview. We typically associate gifts with opportunities during gift entry, but can have gifts slip through the cracks. We do most our opportunity maintenance in webview, so being able to do this there instead of database view is a huge timesaver.

  • @Crystal Bruce we haven't used opportunities as a small shop but I can really see the value of being able to link gifts back to the opportunity presented to donors. Its quite simple and I could see fundraisers reviewing gift to link back to opportunities.

  • @Crystal Bruce We don't use opportunities as a small sho,p but the process was simply,e and I could see fundraisers using this to link gifts

  • @Crystal Bruce As we are in the middle of campaign, this is very helpful to make sure things are tracked properly and that all boxes are checked in terms of Moves Management (Actions, Opportunities, Gifts, etc.). I also like that you can add Opportunities from this tool, too.

  • @Crystal Bruce We don't use Opportunities, but it's good to know how this works should my colleagues need this feature in the future.
