SFTP connector now saying the provided path does not exist?

Options

Hello wise ones. I have been successfully moving files from our hosted files to Sharepoint to refresh our Power BI reports. However, last week (Thursday or Friday) it started to not run with the error that my provided path in my SFTP-SSH trigger does not exist. It is just the path to the folder where all my files are added by Queue and yes, the files are exporting from Queue correctly.

My password that resets every 45 does does not expire until next week, but I readded it to the connection just in case. I tried deleting and re-adding the trigger, no luck. While I can use this as an excuse to move some of these over to the new Query API, many of them are created by exports in database view (not query output) so I would still like to use this process.

I have a flow that uses another folder within my hosted files and that still works. Any ideas?

    @Dan Snyder
    i'm not using sftp anymore as i have fully turnover to Query API. So can't really speak to if there is a general ftp issue or not, however, since you said another flow is working fine then it is not a general server side issue.

    You can try to determine what is the differences between the 2 flows:

    are they using same exact connection?

    are they doing same thing? (trigger by sftp file change or just connect and get file)

    any screenshot of error and error message (the exact message, did you try kb on the error?)

    Here is the PA error and also showing that the path does exist. Now this morning I got a 504 Bad Gateway with Request to the SFTP server has taken more than '00:00:30' seconds. error message.

  • @Dan Snyder- I was just remembering Blackbaud had that change in Oct 2023 that is in this KB Article about removing /C:/FTPHome from your path in Power Automate to grab files.

    I can't see your file path but make sure that it looks something like this:

    (taken from the KB article- not mine)

  • @Carol Grant
    Thanks, yes I did make that change when it was necessary.

    You said a flow of yours is working, was it going to the same folder ?

    I see your screenshot is pointing to ……./Power BI

    is it ……./FTP/Power BI or ……/Power BI?

    @Dan Snyder
    also instead of “typing/copy/paste" into the Folder field, try to “navigate” to it:

    The flow that is working is going to the general FTP folder while this is a separate folder, just …/Power BI.

    Also, when I go to navigate to the folder as you suggested, the Power BI folder does not show up so there must be a permissions thing going on.

    @Dan Snyder
    permission maybe.

    You can check this by using a standalone sFTP client (i.e. FileZilla) and login using the username/password that you use on the SFTP PA flow connection object and see if the Power BI folder shows.

    Also possible that sFTP can only see folder inside the FTP folder. That's where I put subfolder for my sftp work before, everything inside the FTP folder.

  • @Alex Wong Thanks for asking those questions. I nested the Power BI folder within the FTP folder and that seemed to have fixed the issue. Still need to update to using Query API, but for those others I think you have solved the issue for now!

  • @Dan Snyder- this started happening to me last night with my files and I have my folders inside the FTP one. It ran yesterday at 2pm then tried to run again this am. It wasn't just you.
