! [Expression.Error] The field 'access_token' of the record wasn't found.

Hi folks,

I have created a Power BI connector following Linton Myers' Youtube video guide and I have documented the detailed steps and sent to Blackbaud support and they have verified that I have followed the steps correctly.

However, when I was trying to "Get Data" to this connector in Power BI and after signing in and clicking on the [Authorize] button, it throws the follow error...

! [Expression.Error] The field 'access_token' of the record wasn't found.

I reached out to Blackbaud support regarding this error and despite they having me gone through a successful 'Constituent (Get)' test with my SKYAPI subscription key at API reference > Raiser's Edge NXT > Constituent > Endpoint reference, I was still encountering the error. They confirmed that my account has a valid subscription and access keys but says that it might be an authentication issue which they can't confirm. They could not assist further and point me to seek help from this community.

Does anyone has a clue on how to resolve this connection issue?

Thanks & regards,
Sam Chia

Without knowing what you did or didn't do to set this up, it's hard to say what went wrong.

Please check this post on my replies regarding the steps needed to be done and confirm if you have to all the same first.

  • Hi @Alex Wong, I managed to make a connection to Blackbaud with my tweaked Power BI connector, but when trying load the tables all of them says "Expression.Error: Access to the resource is forbidden.". What/where else might I need to fix? Expression.Error - Access to the resource is forbidden.png
