  • Nice to have in webview, but along with opportunities, it would be nice to have the ability to delete the tribute as well. Also, the addition of the tribute does not follow the business rules/required fields we have set up for tributes (ex. acknowledgee needs to have an address) so that could create headaches down the road if tributes are added without contact information.

  • @Crystal Bruce Nice to have that funtionality but I don't see the gifts tied to the tribute like you would in database view.

  • @Crystal Bruce We are not using this feature in database view but nice to know some functionality has been added and what the possibilities are. Other user comments are helpful.

  • @Crystal Bruce Good to see this feature is being worked on. I agree with other comments that we still need to be able to see gifts that are linked to a particular tribute.

  • @Crystal Bruce
This was a good opportunity to check out this tile, though I've not reviewed Tributes in our database in the ~2 years I've helped manage it.

  • @Crystal Bruce one of our fundraisers heavily revolves around tribute gifts, so it was nice to be able to test out adding a tribute to a constituent record. I added an in honor of tribute to one of our records, and it was very similar to the database view!

  • @Crystal Bruce I don't do a lot of tribute work, but I know how it's supposed to function. Entering a tribute and connecting to an acknowledgee requires that the person already be in the database and that they be a constituent. I think I had a workaround in database view if the acknowledgee wasn't a constituent, and I don't see a way to do that here in webview. Also, to echo what @Dan Snyder said, I wish there was a way to be able to delete in webview. Luckily I'm using the same record for all this testing and hopefully I'll remember to go back into database view to get rid of my clutter.

  • @Crystal Bruce Adding an acknowledgee was easy. Liked that.

What I've used the most in db view was # of gifts and amounts. Can pull list from there. Hope there is consideration to add that function.

  • @Crystal Bruce We don't usually link honourees to the gift record - we just have a custom field on the gift/donor record. Using the tribute system could be a great way to track these people especially with name changes etc over the years.

  • @Crystal Bruce I added an 'In Honour of' tribute to one of the constituent records in the test environment. Actually, we already have this tribute in NXT, and it was originally created in the database view. Like my colleagues, I believe it's essential that we can see the gifts linked to the tribute, just as we can in the database view.

  • @Crystal Bruce It's somewhat easier? having the tribute as a tile on the record instead of on a drop-down like in the database view.

  • @Crystal Bruce this is quite timely as I was recently writing a new P&P for Tributes in Webview. Most recently I created a tribute record in honor of a team member who is retiring. What is currently missing is the ability to add a tribute when entering a new gift either individually or in a batch in webview.

  • @Crystal Bruce this was very easy to use, but to echo others, I'd like to see all gifts tied to a tribute, and also be able to delete a tribute record.

  • @Crystal Bruce I find this feature confusing. It should make clear that it refers to tributes in the name of the constituent on the record and not someone the constituent gives in honor/memory of. I thought it was the latter and now I have inaccurate information that I cannot delete ?.

  • @Crystal Bruce I;m not sure if understand how this would add to functionality yet. I didn;t see an area to tie a tribute to a specific gift and looking at the help window it said i could also track Tributes in Giving HIstory, but did not see anything specifically labelled as Tribute

  • @Crystal Bruce Oh, wow! This was super cool, having never tried any of this previously. We navigate directly to the constituent record and input the information of the tribute. Did a test on my record.

  • @Crystal Bruce, I'm glad to see this functionality in web view now, and the inputs are the same as in database view. I noticed that this is for full constituent records in web view, and not in relationship records (like the spouse). Is there any thought to adding this to these records as well?

  • @Crystal Bruce This would be helpful if I needed to add a tribute to a gift after it had already been entered. Generally I enter the tribute information while I am entering the gift, and it doesn't look like that is possible in NXT yet. So, I will be continuing to use the database to enter gifts and tribute information until the ability to add a gift in NXT is more robust.

  • @Crystal Bruce I created a unique use for this feature. My org needed to be able to track gifts brought in that a board member helped solicit. It was made clear that my org did not want our board members listed as solicitors. I created a tribute type titled “volunteer solicitor”. When entering gifts we can link the gift as a tribute to the boards record and pull reports based on this tribute type.

Now we can track “volunteer solicitors” without cluttering up the solicitor relationship tab. Different use for tribute, but definitely works for our purpose :)

  • @Crystal Bruce Great to see the tribute tile in NXT. It was easy to set up a tribute, but I will be using database view until full functionality is available, such as batches - which is where I set them up.

  • @Crystal Bruce
Same as what others said, the tribute tile on constituent page works good (missing ability to enter note like in db view), but without the gift support yet, it is not very useful yet.

  • @Crystal Bruce works great but don't think I will be using it a lot because we don't have many tributes

  • @Crystal Bruce
I added a tribute and checked a record on which a tribute also exists to see if it was brought over (it was). As other have said, it's essential that we can see the gifts linked to the tribute, just as we can in the database view.

  • @Crystal Bruce As others have mentioned, it's essential that we’re able to view the gifts linked to a tribute—just as we can in the database view. Additionally, the inability to enter notes makes this functionality quite limited. For now, I will continue using the database view, as it remains more useful for my needs.

  • @Crystal Bruce Echoing alot of what others are sharing - as it's currently built out, it's nice to see, but I can't see it being used extensively until we're doing more gift entry in NXT.

  • @Crystal Bruce pretty simple and easy to use.

  • @Crystal Bruce This is a new one for me, but seems pretty straightforward for our gifts processor. I created a test on my record for this exercise, but I had to go to database view to delete it. That would be a helpful function with this on webview. ;-)

  • @Crystal Bruce I created an “in celebration of" tribute - it's much the same as tribute in db view, but ideally it would also have the notes field available. We use this to record the package for that person's celebration - which saves time fishing it out of RE to use when updating our celebrants and any other important notes to do with updating celebrants or entering gifts for the tribute.

  • @Crystal Bruce We actually just started utilizing Tributes and it is a great way to track which IMO / IHO (In Memory Of / In Honor Of) activity we could advocate for / reboot. I'm looking forward to using this as a simpler way to track those special gifts and keep certain IMO / IHO constituents inactive, as needed.

  • @Crystal Bruce I created an in Honor of tribute. This was as easy as adding a tribute in database view.
