BAM set up refresh / overhaul

Options

Hi,

Like a lot of folks I inherited BAM that was set up long before my time. Each year that I work in the software I come across inconsistencies in the way scholarships were set up, the way they are being reviewed or issues that have arisen due to the BMA and our District system that imports data into BAM. Has anyone gone through a refresh of their system or a complete overhaul and set everything up new again? If so, did you do it on your own or reach out to Blackbaud to help set up again.. any best practices to share?

We did a complete overhaul of our system when the campus changed our homegrown student information system to PeopleSoft. The biggest task was that each of our 700+ scholarship accounts had to be rebuilt to match to new data points. We did it all in house and fairly quickly, but we did hire a consultant familiar with PeopleSoft to help with the task, as we had a very short runway to get it done (after cycle management for one application cycle and bringing up a new application with dates that closely matched previous cycle). Blackbaud did not assist with this process--it was all us.
