Making all opportunities "Always Visible"

Options

For our next award cycle, we are considering setting all opportunities across our large, decentralized university to “always visible.” Scholarship coordinators in our numerous schools and colleges follow different application/awarding timelines through our 10-month cycle. At present, most of our opportunities are set to “visible when open,” and on our public-facing site, this can result in periods of time when only 20-40 scholarship opportunities are displayed, and we don't love how this looks to prospective students/families who may visit the public-facing site just once to get a feel for what we have available compared to other institutions. Might anyone who currently uses the “always visible” setting across all opportunities have some pitfalls for us to avoid or other things for us to consider as we contemplate this big change? Changing this setting will result in hundreds of opportunities being visible for the duration of our 10-month cycle.

Comments

  • We use the always visible setting. We want our students to see all possible opportunities. From a recruiting stand point, we decided always visible was best even if funding had been spent or not verified. We haven't had a lot of questions or concerns by using the always visible setting.
