Need bulk upload of recipient photos for donor reports in BBAM or a better solution

Options
As part of post-acceptance, our recipients upload a photo along with their thank you letter. My understanding from a Nov 2020 BBAM webinar was that I could use that photo as the circular avatar atop the donor report PDF. Alas, no. I can make the photo a separate section on the donor report and leave the circle with the recipient's initials, or I can go into each recipient record and upload their photo, which needs to be downloaded from their post-acceptance. Blackbaud case central has informed me that this is the only way I can place photos as avatars. Does anyone have a similar problem with a much better solution?

  • Tim, are you publishing disbursements for your reports? If the students upload their photos in their post acceptance they should show up with the disbursement information when you generate a report. Also, ensure that the post acceptance question that requires the photo is enabled at Site -→ Settings -→ Stewardship content →Source field for recipient avatar, and Site-→ Settings -→ Disbursement Fields.

  • Thank you, Michele! Also, BBAM case central will be updating their documentation.

(BBAM case central) -- I have been informed by the Product Management team that the documentation that we have internally and for admins in regards to your inquiry is incorrect. There will be new documentation created soon that discusses this, but there is now a way to accomplish what you are wanting.

Per the team: Admins can use images submitted by applicants as the avatar image. They choose which question to use as the avatar by going to Site > Settings > Stewardship Content and updating "Source Field for Recipient Avatar". If an image was not submitted by an applicant, by default the system shows their initials. However, admins can also change the default to be something like a school logo or some image other than the initials by going to Site > Settings > Styles and uploading an image for "Default recipient avatar". The admin should update the Source Field for Recipient Avatar and that should update any avatars currently showing initials to use the images that the applicants uploaded instead.
