Using External Scholarships

Hello everyone!


I'm hoping to gain some perspective from our fellow community members that use the External Opportunities within Blackbaud Award Management. We are looking at the option of using this to allow non-university affiliated programs/ scholarship donors to have more direct access to our student population - of course, this would be used to send student's to the donor's landing page/ application.


Does anyone do this? Can you give advice on how you would navigate communication with the donor or make sure to follow FERPA guidelines? Do you vett them in any particular ways or have them sign an agreement to confirm authentication of funds? etc.?


Any information would be much appreciated!

I have wanted to include external opportunities in our system to give students better access/knowledge of them. Right now I house the information about external opportunities on our website as a searchable database. But students have to go and search them out. I was thinking of putting them into our system so that it can be easier (less work) for them and more "in their face".
