I am thinking of implementing texting as a means to contact students about deadlines related to their scholarship. Has anyone tried this yet? If so, has it been a successful way to communicate to students?

I used Blackboardconnect to text our students to remind them of the application deadline. I also added my contact info. It seemed to work well as I received some responses generated by the text.
